Blog Nihon-go help (tasukeru)

Konnichiwa:

Just wanted to ask if anyone can help me with Japanese hiragana on the blog. In the lab last week we used a little flag icon on the right upper hand corner to change languages. I wrote in romaji and it converted it to hiragana. I have spent hours trying to figure out how we did that. Thanks and getsu made.

Week 1

Japanese class, finally. I have tried to study Japanese before but had time conflicts. This is for me, a very exiciting and rare opportunity to study and actually learn how to converse in Japanese. I know I won't be perfect but after working at the American Language Program (English-as-a-second-language)at Columbia, I see how little by little the students learn to speak confidently. All it takes is practice and the courage to make mistakes when first speaking a new language. Reading and writing a language is alot different then when you have to talk in person with someone. I am looking forward to learning.
